In order to accommodate the needs and requests of our patients, we have
signed on as providers for numerous managed care plans. While we are pleased
to be able to provide this service to you, it is extremely difficult for us to
keep track of all the individual requirements of the plans. Each one has
different stipulations regarding how often services may be rendered and, even
more importantly, where those services may be performed. Even within the same
insurance company, plans differ depending upon what type of contract your
employer has negotiated.
Providing quality medical care for our patients is our primary concern.
Secondary to that, we are more than willing to provide that care within your
insurance contract guidelines, if you inform us at EACH time of
service exactly what those guidelines are. We expect you to be a partner with
us regarding your insurance coverage, and we expect you to be aware of your
insurance plan requirements. With your cooperation and help, you should be
able to receive all of the benefits to which you are entitled, and we will be
able to concentrate on caring for your medical needs.
Unfortunately, if you do not inform us of the special requirements in your
contract, and we subsequently order services that are not covered (such as lab
work or hospitalization), we, or the selected medical facility, will have no
choice but to bill you directly for those services. Payment for those charges
will then be your responsibility.
Please read carefully the policies that follow regarding insurance cards
and co-pays, claims and billing. If you have additional questions after
reading the material, please contact our Business Office at (512) 454-5721
(select option 8 on the auto attendant menu).
