Conditions we treat

  • Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a major life transition. With it comes whole new set of “what if’s.” We are available to help women though every phase of pregnancy- before, during, and after. This includes post-partum depression/anxiety, infertility stress, parent/relationship coaching, and hormonal changes.

  • Hormonal Changes

Hormonal changes occur around menses, pregnancy, and during the perimenopausal period. Hormonal fluctuations can affect a woman’s mood & overall sense of wellbeing. We offer comprehensive evaluations and treatment options to help women feel more stable and in control of their cycles.

  • Depression

About one in every eight women will develop clinical depression during their lifetime. Symptoms of Depression include sadness, difficulty sleeping, difficulty concentrating, and feeling worthless. Depression is often treated with both medications and psychotherapy.

  • Trauma/PTSD

Trauma creates havoc to our mental well-being. Many women have experienced sexual, physical, or emotional trauma. Tramatic experiences are often exacerbated during the peripartum period (i.e. birth trauma, resurgence of old trauma).
We offer Cognitive Processing Therapy to help women process trauma and to not allow the past to define their future.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety includes social anxiety, generalized anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, and post traumatic stress disorder. Anxiety is often treated with both medications and psychotherapy.

  • Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder includes symptoms of depression (feeling down) and mania (feeling up). It can sometimes present as extreme irritability. Bipolar disorder is often treated with “mood stabilizing” medications and therapy.

  • ADHD

ADHD includes difficulty concentrating and staying organized. It often starts at a young age, when people notice having trouble in school. ADHD can often worsen after having children. ADHD is often treated with “stimulant” medications and organization coaching.

  • Life transitions and Relationship Difficulties

Are you going through a difficult time (loss of a pregnancy, loss of job, loss of relationship) or life transition (becoming a mom, empty nest, moving)?
Are you struggling with interpersonal relationships at work or in your social life?
Psychotherapy can make life transitions more manageable. Therapy can also improve interpersonal skills, which can lead to more meaningful relationships.
